HOW TO CHOOSE WHICH STYLE OF BROW PERMANENT MAKEUP IS BEST FOR YOU
It can be REALLY confusing with all of the different styles of permanent makeup out there. So how do you choose which style to get? I’m going to break it down for you so that you can confidently book the brow appointment of your dreams!
Hairstrokes - First, let’s address hairstrokes. If you like the look of hairstrokes and the texture they provide, you’ll want to lean towards Microblading, a Blade + Shade, or Combo Brows.
If you like that perfectly faded front, without the hairstrokes then you’ll want to lean towards an ombre brow.
Okay we have started to narrow it down…
If you want THE most natural look then you’ll want Microblading alone. If you love the texture that hairstrokes provide but you want them filled in a little more, then a Blade + Shade will be gorgeous. Now, lets say you like the look of hairstrokes but you also find yourself filling in your brows with a pencil or powder, then you may be the best candidate for a Combo Brow (pictured above) which involves beautiful hairstrokes at the front of the brow that gradually fade into a nice powder brow. Here’s the breakdown:
Microblading: Hairstrokes only. Typically considered the most natural look
Blade & Shade: This is considered a step up from microblading as far as how much ink is implanted into the skin and how natural it looks. You get the benefit of hairstrokes plus powderfill.
Combo Brow: Microbladed hairstrokes at the front with a powdery arch and tail which mimics the arch and tail of an ombre/powder brow
Ombre/Powderfill: A perfectly faded front with a shaded arch and tail. Typically recognized as a more bold, sculpted brow.
Now let’s talk about Nano Brows. The latest evolution in the permanent makeup industry. Nano looks similar to microblading and the benefit is that it may be more suited for oily skin types than microblading. Although this is a current hot topic in our industry and many experienced microblading artists will argue that you can get great results with microblading on oily skin when executed properly.
This should give you some good food for thought on which style to choose but as a reminder - All of the brows that I create are custom including shape, color, and style and we will discuss it either during your Virtual Consultation or we can decide at the appointment.
